My Sister is Worth More Than 200 Camels!

My sister, Mandy really IS worth more than 200 camels!

How do I know this?

Her hubby David told me.

Now read on.................

Well, it all started a few months ago..................

(sound effects of dreamy music over a fuzzy swirling picture.)

It was my sister-in-law Kath's 60th Birthday, and as you know by now, our family throw parties on a regular basis.

Any excuse will do! But on this being such a Grand Occasion, Kath decided on having us all in Fancy Dress.

Mumsie, as always, just didn't take it seriously enough..................

Sister Mandy looked fantastic as a 1960's "Dolly Bird"..............

Where did you get that hat?

There were around 80 of us, so it came as no surprise that some of us chose similar outfits and themes...........

Mandy's hubby was dressed as an Arab.....................

His daughter, Tracey was dressed as Cleopatra.....................

and.................

so was I!
(Do you like my colour coordinated eyeshadow?)

At some point in the evening, someone took a photo of David, Tracey and me.

This gave David the idea for their next family holiday...................

Egypt, Land of the Pharaohs.

They got back a couple of weeks ago, and they all had a lovely time!

I asked him if anyone offered him to swap Mandy for any camels. (I'd heard that Egyptian men love blondes.)

He said he was offered 200 camels, but he declined their kind offer.

"Aaah - that's true love, that is." I said.

"Don't be daft!" said David. "What would I do with 200 camels? I don't smoke and you only smoke hand rolled ciggies."

Luckily, Mandy was out of earshot when he said this!

Thank you all soooo much for your kind words re my recent return to blogland.

Don't forget to pop back soon!

Sheik, Rattle 'n' Roll, (with apologies to Mr Bill Haley)

Now I have finally got all the sand out of my Yashmak, I will tell the tales about my recent holiday.

When Youngest Son invited me to go East with him and his family on a caravan holiday, I jumped at the chance.

However, as is often the case with my middle-aged brain, my imagination got the better of me.

"Oooh! Caravan," I thought. This conjured up such images of this....

And this.........

And, maybe a little bit of.............

and a few mouthfuls of this.........

What my son actually meant by Going East was in fact, East Yorkshire

was THIS.....

Which meant putting up with this.................

This...........

and plenty of this................

The place we stayed at had a Family Club Room, ooooh dear, loads of these............

As children will often behave themselves better for other people, a few of us families decided that we should do a Baby Swap. (Just for the evening!)

We put all of our babies' dummies, (pacifiers) into a hat, closed our eyes and took out a dummy. We were then allocated the child who said dummy belonged to.

Someone got confused, cos I ended up WITH HIM!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow!
